Terms of Use
Last updated: October 26, 2026
1. Who we are
The House Rules operates thehouserules.co. The House Rules is a referral service. It is not a licensed contractor, does not perform roofing, window or door work, and does not offer to. Work is done by independent companies that are solely responsible for their own licenses, insurance, pricing and workmanship. This notice is given in line with Florida law on holding out as a contractor (Fla. Stat. § 489.127).
2. What the service does
You submit a request. We try to match it with an independent company that may serve your area and send your information to it. We do not guarantee a match, a response, a price, availability or any result. Any agreement for work is only between you and the company you choose.
3. No endorsement; check licenses
We do not recommend, vouch for or supervise any company. Before you hire anyone, ask for their license number and insurance and verify them with your state. In Florida, use the Department of Business and Professional Regulation at myfloridalicense.com.
4. Your information and consent
By submitting a request you confirm the information is accurate, that you are an adult and that you are authorized to use the phone number and email provided. Contact consent is described next to the submit button and in the Privacy Policy. Consent to calls and texts is not a condition of buying anything.
5. Text messages
If you consent, you may receive text messages about your request from us or from the company that serves it. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel and HELP for help, or email hello@thehouserules.co.
6. Acceptable use
Do not submit false or someone else’s information, use automated tools to submit requests, or interfere with the site.
7. No warranty; limits of liability
The site and service are provided “as is.” To the fullest extent the law allows, The House Rules is not liable for the acts or omissions of any company you are referred to, for the quality, cost or timing of any work, or for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing here limits rights you cannot waive under law.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by Florida law. Disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Palm Beach County, Florida, unless the law requires otherwise.
9. Changes
We may update these terms and will change the date above when we do.
